I) Nifty: open 22224 and touched the high of 22307 then the low of 21932 and closed at 21957 with a total loss of 345 points

II) Bank Nifty: open 47976 and touched a high of 48258 then a low of 47440 and closed at 47487 With a Total loss of 533 points

III) Fin Nifty: open 21376 and touched a high of 21475 then a low of 21072 and closed at 21093 With a Total loss of 334 points

IV) Nifty Mid Select: open 10942 and touched a high of 10975 then a low of 10739 and closed at 10753 With a Total loss of 172 points

NSE Advance and decline

Nifty Top 500 Gainer

I) SKF India reported a net profit of ₹175.2 crore for Q4FY24, up by a substantial 42.6% from ₹122.9 crore in Q4FY23

II) Vijaya Diagnostic reported a 22 percent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 33 crore for the March quarter of the financial year 2023-24.

I) Piramal Enterprises is back in the black on large tax write-back

II) Motilal Oswal The company reported a net profit of ₹137 crore for the quarter, attributed to write-backs on taxation and investments. Board approved merger with Piramal Capital & Housing Finance

III) On Wednesday, Broadband technology company Sterlite Technologies reported a consolidated loss of Rs 82 crore for the fourth quarter of March 2024, mainly due to a dip in the optical networking business. The company had posted a profit of Rs 63 crore a year ago.

II) Pharma Analysts and experts attributed the sectoral downtrend to the regulatory heat that several Indian generics manufacturers have been facing lately from the USFDA, which has stepped up inspections of manufacturing facilities post-COVID-19.
